After trying so many different forms of exercise, we found Yoga and Pilates gave us the best physical and mental results.
Pilates and Yoga are complete body conditioning workouts.
When you create a consistent practise expect to tone, strengthen and lengthen your muscles, improve circulation, increase energy levels and create better posture.
Pilates and Yoga both promote presence and focus on movement with breath.
They are both forms of moving meditation. If you struggle to slow your mind, if you've been trying (and TRYING) to create a meditation practice use Pilates and Yoga as the gateway to your meditation practice (this is what we did and it works). This practice helps to reduce anxiety and helps you deal with everyday stresses in life.

I know for sure that incorporating the MerryBody workouts into my life have helped me in so many ways, both with my physical body (most notably my flexibility and core strength) but more importantly, my mental and emotional wellbeing has benefited greatly.

There are modifications, so even a beginner like me can do it and I didn’t feel any shame in having to do modifications. Emma and Carla provide individual support too which is just amazing! Physically I feel stronger and more flexible. I’ve noticed my posture has improved and I’ve been getting compliments from people in my life that I am looking healthier.

Being able to workout at home whenever I have time means it actually gets done and not put off. I think the thing that keeps bringing me back to the mat is the infectious enthusiasm and honesty that Emma and Carla bring to each class, making it feel like a shared experience and giving awareness that I’m not alone when I find something difficult or get sweaty and exhausted.
